The Cisco Desk Pro is a personal video meeting desk device that can be used as a primary or secondary monitor. It features digital whiteboarding and laptop charging.
One of the main problems to solve for was privacy.  Through research we found that users had concerns about inadvertently sharing their screen when in a video call while their laptop was plugged in. Providing a sense of confidence became a primary goal.
An approach to solve for this was providing clear previews of what would be shared, and clearly marking the content source once something was shared.

Concept for sharing content while in a video meeting.

As this was a personal device, flexibility for how users wanted to view shared was important to provide a personalized experience. Users could manipulate the content and choose what they want to focus on: people, content or both.

Early concept of a video meeting with two sources of content. I worked with a visual designer who refined the animations to validate the concepts with developers and stakeholders.
